Program Manager

SUMMARY: Opportunity to join a growing dynamic manufacturing company, working with leading edge technology in a fast-paced industry. Serve as the key liaison between Electronic Systems, Inc., and the customer. Responsible for all aspects of the business relationship with the customer including planning, directing, and coordinating all activities to ensure that financial and project goals/objectives are accomplished within the appropriate timeframe/budget.

PREPRE-REQUISITE: Four-year college degree in Business or Engineering, or its equivalent desired. Must have excellent oral and written communication skills. Must possess excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite. Experience in working in a team-oriented environment desired.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

(E) = Essential Duties

(E) 1. Direct quotation process on existing customers’ new products including:

  1. Serving as main customer interface on quote preparation and proposals.

  2. Obtaining accurate and complete information from the customer in order to prepare quotes.

  3. Providing quote information to Purchasing and Manufacturing Engineering teams.

  4. Resolving information discrepancies with customers and internal Purchasing and Manufacturing Engineering teams.

  5. Obtaining inputs from Purchasing and Manufacturing Engineering teams and assembling into a formal quotation for submission to the customer.

(E) 2. Coordinate the introduction of new products into the manufacturing system including:

  1. Developing and maintaining product introduction schedule/timeline for program.

  2. Assigning specific product introduction responsibilities/tasks to the associated functional support teams.

  3. Coordinating the review of program requirements such as staffing, capacity, capital, and quality requirements.

  4. Coordinating the building of prototypes through appropriate areas.

  5. Serving as focal point for resolving start-up issues with both internal and external customers.

(E) 3. Responsible for the profitability of customer programs by:

  1. Working with accounting to ensure appropriate reports are prepared for monthly cost meetings.

  2. Reviewing profitability of each major customer monthly.

  3. Analyzing, recommending, and implementing customer deletions as appropriate.

  4. Analyzing and recommending internal improvements to improve customer profitability as appropriate.

(E) 4. Responsible for developing requotes on new orders including:

  1. Researching and analyzing prior product history dealing with quotes, material, and labor.

  2. Preparing updated quotes as required and document reason for change.

(E) 5. Coordinate product documentation from customer with Document Control including:

  1. Understanding and communicating product assembly issues with the customer.

  2. Signing off "Engineering Changes" and approving “Engineering Action Requests" documentation.

  3. Interfacing with Materials/Purchasing and Engineering teams to help resolve material change issues.

(E) 6. Provide value analysis for customer products to assist in reducing overall costs.

(E) 7. Coordinate the sale of excess and obsolete inventory due to ECN changes and EOL products.

(E) 8. Set up quarterly or semi-annual business reviews and prepare the presentation for these reviews.

(E) 9. Host customers and coordinate customer visits at ESI.

(E) 10. Serve on various committees as assigned.

(E) 11. Perform all other duties as assigned.

CONTACTS: Frequent external and internal contacts with customers, resource people, and associates.

WORKING CONDITIONS: General office and production environment.

ACCOUNTABILITY: The Program Manager is accountable for presenting a professional image both in the office and at outside activities. Must demonstrate good informational development and decision-making skills, and provide customers with prompt, concise responses. Must manage time well. Accountable for practicing and promoting safe working habits, compliance with Company policies/procedures, and contribution to the overall Electronic Systems, Inc. team.
